The introduction of stone therapy both in treatments at your local salon or spa and for home use is one of the most popular and trending things to have done right now. Especially with COVID19 and the closure of our favourite salon's and spa's these new (ancient) therapies are a must have item.
However, just what is the different between a Face Roller and Gua Sha and is Jade or Rose Quartz better?
Ultimately at the end of the day both devices utilise stones that help to increase the lymphatic drainage of the skin, increases circulation, reduces puffines especially around the eyes and help seal in the active ingredients from serums or ampoules. The main difference comes from if you would prefer to roller the stone and use a different size roller for smaller areas such as the eyes or a flat stone (Gua Sha) and drag it along the skin and jawline.
The stones itself have its own ancient therapies and cult followings. Jade which is used in traditional Chinese medicine, is believed that it carries a healing energy that can help balance your own inner energies, relax the nervous system,is known for peace, wisdom and balance. Its molecular structure also is softer and disperes heat easier.
Ancient Egyptians believed that Rose Quartz crystals had anti-ageing properties and is a crystal known for enhancing anything love-related and stays cooler longer so great for toning and firming the skin and reducing inflammation.
